I think we are the first generation to really apologize to our children. I apologize to my children all the time, and I can't imagine my grandparents apologizing to my parents very often.
You know, I got cross. I'm really sorry. Daddy was having a bad day. I shouldn't have taken out on you. Like those kinds of things.
And I think as people's emotional education expands, we're learning actually children do have a pretty high bandwidth to understand their feelings and your feelings, and I don't need to hide when I'm angry, I might just need to explain to you why I'm feeling frustrated.
