A Personal Journey of Loss and Recovery | Not Psychologists Talks with Jason and Yurii

Join Jason Baum, the therapist by legacy, and Yurii Lazaruk, the therapist by Ilker, in having deep conversations about things you think but don't talk about a lot!

I was sad about the job. And then I was like, well, and now I'm switching to caretaker 3 hours later, but not realizing at that point the full grasp of what that meant.

And I remember hanging up the phone, thinking all these things in my head, walking outside because my daughter and my wife were taking a walk. We have a park next door to our house, and they were just kind of walking.

And I walked over, and just suddenly burst out and I was trying not to in front of my daughter, but it's like, I couldn't, it was like the well opened. It was just like something, just boom. And I just like literally spurred out.

In this episode, we discussed Jason's story of losing his dad during COVID and coping with his feelings, in particular:

👉 The triple hit: COVID stress, job loss, and father's illness.

👉 The first time Jason’s daughter saw him cry.

👉 First hospital visits and the impact of restrictions.

👉 Dealing with fear, anger, guilt, and grief.

👉 Process of forgiving oneself and others.
